Rising Antivirus 2011 - Protect yourself against virus threats
Review by on
It's hard to choose from so many antivirus programs. They all do the same thing and you can't be sure which one is the best for you. The trickiest part is getting to know the interface. It may be well organized, but there's still too much stuff to click on. Rising Antivirus is a fast installing and efficient solution which you might want to consider.

You can have the program up and running on your PC fast. You don't need to purchase a DVD, wait for a long installation process and run around your tail with the product's activation. You still need to buy Rising Antivirus, but you can do all this over the Internet. You just need to download the package, run it and the program will be installed in under a minute. Activating it requires just a click on a button and a window will show up where you need to type the product key that you'll receive when you buy he program.

The sleek designed interface has little to click on, but it does have a number of useful features. Everything is organized in three separate tabs. The first tab is the actual antivirus tool. Here, you can perform a quick, overall or custom scan. The first two tabs automatically start scanning your system and the last lets you manually select drives to scan. Besides your drives, you can also select for scanning critical areas like the RAM or boot.

The second tab is a defence interface. Here, you can enable or disable certain defence features like USB disk protection, mail monitor, Trojan defense and others. Each item has an enable/disable button next to them for easy access and they also have a settings button. This will take you to a more elaborate settings screen.

The final tab gives you access to some tools, like the Rising PC Doctor, but you'd better have the bought version of the program. An interesting tool is the Rising assistant. This will bring up Rising's mascot on your desktop: an animated lion. It's not clear what its purpose is, but it's cute. When you click and drag him around, it will hang on to the cursor. If you right click it and choose "hide", it will disappear in a puff of smoke and it will peek at you from one of the desktop's edges.

Pros:
Rising Antivirus gives you all you need: an antivirus program in which you won't get lost because of countless menus and options. The tools you actually need are right in front of you, so you can access them quickly. It also features a cute lion on your desktop.

Cons:
You can't find a scheduling options for the scanning feature. Just for the updates.

Rising Antivirus is a quick and easy way to protect your computer. When it comes to security, it gets straight to the point and it won't hinder you unless it needs to.
